Dunedin ==> Queenstown
I paid. Didnt sneak in.
A mountain of cadbury crunchy! *Shimmer Shimmer* Heard there are over 20000 there.
Cadbury land.
Tried to look like the cat but super not successful! I lifted my feet off the ground and had a tough time balancing. And this picture cuts off my tremendous effort of lifting up one foot.
Cadbury chocs came in such packaging then.
Hop on.
Killed someone for chocs. Told him not to get into the way.. just wont listen. The factory tour wasnt fantastic. Nothing much... machines and machines and humans operating machines. But when i see those chocs on the production belt i wanted to dip my finger in and lick off those yummy looking chocs. Thought they'll have some special chocs to sell but all they have on shelve are also avaliable on the supermarket. booooo.
Next stop was the Speight's Beer Brewery. Because there was some admin screw up, we ended up having a private tour for the 6 of us! Just that we got to walk past some weird places (like behind the production plant) so that we dont bump into the rest of the people on tour.
According to our guide, warriors used to drink beer in skulls. Why cant they just use a cup. Or a leaf??? These people.
Beer was invented long long ago. In ancient Eygpt! They were aware of the negative effects of drinking beer though. They say you'll break your bones, talk rubbish and your spouse will leave you. Haha. Beer tasting. They had 6 or 7 beers to try and you can drink as much as you wish. Aik khoon and I drank very little because we were very hungry then. Didnt want to get drunk over beer tasting! Anyway I think I look drunk in that picture. Haha.. There was this Speight's Harvest beer which was pretty good.. Had an apricot taste to it. I like!Everybody was hungry after that. For some reason we are always hungry. Bought this $4.5o chinese takeaway thing and sat at some benches for lunch.
We had lunch infront of this beautiful architecture. They claim this is one of the most photographed buildings in the southern hemisphere. I wonder how they got the statistics.
I was 9865km away from Shanghai.
After lunch, we drove off the Baldwin street to burn some calories.
When we reached there, everybody in the car went "God! I'm not going up there!" But we still went up. Long and steep... I tried to run up but was moving extremely slowly. Hahaha.. Move an inch after using lots of energy. They planned this whole place on paper.. didnt take into consideration the topography and we ended up with this world's steepest street. An illustration of how steep the slope actually is:
The rest of the day is spent on travelling. The drive was great, very scenic!
