Road Trip -- Day 2
TattooS!
The instructors told us some Maori myths regarding the river. Said it used to be some funeral ground where the tribes will put the deceased at the side of the river and let it decompose and be eaten up by eels. They claim the waters is infested with eels! if you fall in you will become eels' food! Yuck. Unagi? Unagi's FOOD???They also kept doing some Maori chants which made it quite scary. As though the river is really super dangerous. But this myth thing is supposed to be part of the experience they are selling.
A medium waterfall. Got very wet but still survived. Anyway the guy with us is called Jimbo. Jing says sounds like dumbo. So mean ar. Tsk. I like him leh! I think he is charming! :)
Note that we are the rescue boat. not the rescueD boat. There's a vast difference there. Not just dont need to be rescued still can rescue people la! Our landing was kind of weird because we got submerged and somehow the raft came back up again without overturning. Aik khoon's/Ian/Andrea's raft came down nice and smoothly. One of the rafts overturned! And the instructors were so mean, they called them Team Overturn.
Tried to rescue them but we're too weak. No strength to pull them out of the water! Jimbo was damn strong though. He pulled them up one by one like it doesnt require much effort. Kind of like... grabbing a big fish out of the water?
After the rafting. Hands were super tired and weak.. with some bruises and cuts. Had muscle ache all over the place the next day. Haha..
Bruised fingers.
Mud bath after that. We all imagined it to be some super thick and warm mud which u can spread all over yourself but it isnt! It is just like a muddy hot spring. Haha. Anyway the stupid mudbath made my bikini smell of mud ever since! BOOOOO... I imagine the mud probably got infused into the microfibres of the clothing or something. :(Bikini pics not to be revealed. This shall be all you see. Haha.
scenery from the mud bath place.
Decided to leak some pics.Dont be misled by the picture. The water is just chalky, it isnt as viscous as it seems. You got to dig out the mud at the bottom of the pool. I think everybody looks quite sweet in this pic though.
Had a super tight schedule that day. Went back to the backpackers after mud bath and we went off for more adventure! Went to this place called agroventure. Went to test if my heart is functioning well. Adrenalin rush all over the place, multiple times a day! Thats NZ for you. It is either extreme sports or sight seeing.First up is the agrojet. It is those jet rides that will travel very fast and do sudden turns at sharp angles.
Paused for a picture. That was the appetiser. Haha. More scary stuff up next!
It is called the Swoop. We looked at the pictures and the people in the pictures dont look petrified at all. We didnt think much about it until we saw what was it all about! Pictures are deceiving. It is like this bungy cum swing concept. They put you in this cocoon thingy and they slowly raise you up 40m above ground. After that, they drop you and you'll freefall awhile before you swing forward.
They allowed you to do it with your friends. So i did it with Kimpeng and Andrea. Everybody was so scared la! But i reckoned i should attempt to give them some confidence in this whole thing so i maintained my usual not much expression face. Pretend to not be scared when i was trembling inside! They said someone had to pull a cord which will release us from the 40m. Sigh, when they said that i knew the job was mine. Add on to my stress.
I pulled the cord once. But failed attempt! Haha.. you'll see it in the video. I think the video is very funny!! hahahaha...
Cursed abit to myself but apparently even aik khoon 40m below can hear. So it wasnt that discrete after all. Swoop ended our heart testing experiment. Tested and proven, heart still going very strong.
